Tipping Point: Ben repeats question after wrong answer

Tipping Point fans were left less than thrilled just moments into the latest episode of the ITV quiz show as host Ben Shephard made an announcement.

In Thursday's edition of the hit game show, presenter Ben welcomed viewers alongside three new contestants eager to win a hefty sum of money.

The trio of competitors included Michelle, a cashier from South Wales, Arif, a civil servant hailing from Cambridge, and Kayleigh, who works as a student support officer.

As the anticipation built up for the start of the game, Ben excitedly announced: "Hello and welcome to Tipping Point. It's the start of a brand new series and we've got a brand new set-up. Three players will be facing our machine and they are all hoping to win thousands today."

But sharp-eyed fans were quick to spot that the so-called 'new' episode was actually a rerun that had been broadcast just days earlier, reports the Daily Star.

Viewers watching at home wasted no time sharing their reactions on social media. One Tweeted: “This was on the other day. There must be thousands of other episodes they could show. Pathetic from @itv #tippingpoint.” (sic)

Another chimed in with: "This one was on not so long ago. Would you ever stop that ITV? #tippingpoint #ITV." (sic)

A third vented: "he said a new series and it's not. #tippingpoint." (sic)

One more added their voice to the chorus of complaints, saying: "Come on @ITV you can do better than this. #TippingPoint." And yet another remarked sarcastically: "Brand new my hole.... This was on just recently. #tippingpoint." (sic)

Michelle had a slow start on the show, initially finding herself in last place. However, she managed to turn things around during the quick-fire question round, earning four counters for the machine.

After a tense competition, Michelle stormed through to the final with £3,250 in her prize pot. Host Ben then gave her the option to keep her winnings or trade them for three more counters and a shot at the £10,000 jackpot.

If she could knock down the jackpot counter with her additional counters, she would win the jackpot. Despite the jackpot counter teetering near the edge of the bottom shelf, Michelle chose not to gamble and kept her winnings.

Tipping Point continues weekdays from 4pm on ITV and ITVX.
