The One Show: Alex Jones gets Miranda Hart's name wrong
The One Show's Alex Jones was left rather red-faced after a comical blunder on Tuesdays programme when she muddled up the name of a beloved TV personality.
Kicking off the show with a faux pas, the Welsh host greeted the audience saying: "Hello there and welcome to your Tuesday One Show with Alex Scott.."
Her co-host carried on with: "And Alex Jones. Well we've got a busy show tonight full of exciting exclusives and, of course, lots of heart."
However, when the moment came to bring it back to Alex Jones, she stumbled: "That is right. Amanda Hart..." before realising her error, quickly jumping in with: "Amanda Hart? Miranda Hart joins us. She will be revealing why we haven't seen her on our screens for a while and she'll be sharing some very good news."
Once the much-loved Miranda graced the sofa, Alex was intent on not repeating her mistake as she introduced the esteemed guest stating: "Now time to welcome our first guest, a much-loved writer, comedian and actor and we haven't seen her on our screens for a while so I'm very pleased to say that Miranda Hart joins us now. Or Amanda Hart... what's wrong with me?" reports Wales Online.

With great humour, Miranda quipped back: "Amanda... Alan, it's lovely to see you again! " To which a chagrined Jones said: "It's been so long we've missed you so much," eliciting from Miranda the playful retort: "So long you've forgotten my name! " She went on to graciously dismiss the mix-up, remarking: "I'll forgive you."
Miranda was also there to provide heartening updates to her fans, assuring them that "there is always hope" and divulging that she had indeed tied the knot quietly after weathering a strenuous year.
The celebrity, appearing on the show to plug her latest book, I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You, shared that readers can gain a glimpse into her personal life as she discussed her mystery spouse and health struggle.
She disclosed that 'someone's put a ring on it' and affirmed that she encountered 'my person' at the ripe age of 49.
