Big Brother: Emma recognises Thomas as he enters the house
Big Brother UK fans were quick to react on Sunday's launch show as one contestant 'let slip' their past link to a fellow housemate.
During the latest instalment, Thomas, 20, from Carlisle, who is an amputee footballer, entered the house where one contestant immediately recognised him.
Emma, 53, an aesthetics business owner originally from Essex but now living in Altrincham was quick to 'let slip' their past link.
Upon spotting Thomas, who recognised Emma, the latter said: "I saw you at the audition and I was like he's going to get in the house!" reports the Mirror.
Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to react to the interaction. One person said: ""I saw you at auditions" so what you're telling me is some of them have deffo already met #BBUK" A second viewer wrote: "The fact they all know each other from auditions??? literally why? #bbuk." While a third said: "Thomas and Emma saw each other at the auditions haha #BBUK" and another added: "They knew eachother from auditions ?? #BBUK."
Talking about joining the show, Emma said: "My daughter and her friend told me to apply. It was around midnight one night and I sat there one night and I did it more to humour them two.
"I did the application and didn’t put any thought into it whatsoever. I didn’t think in a million years I would hear back from them - my jaw dropped when I did!"
Teasing what she'll bring to the house, she added: "I’m going to bring peace and harmony and a whole lot of laughter - that’s going to be me. But saying that, I could go in there and be the one to cause all the drama. I would like to think I’m the peacemaker.
"People ask me if I’m going to be the mother hen in the house - I might have times where I’m the mother hen but generally speaking I’ll be one of the girls. I don’t think I really act my age when I really should so I can’t see myself acting my age in Big Brother."
Meanwhile, Thomas said of joining the show: "I like trying everything in the world. I feel like I want to give everything a go. This was another opportunity where I thought ‘you only live once’ and I can be one of the few people who’ve said that I’ve done Big Brother.
"I’m only young and it’s one of those experiences I can look back on and tell my kids, my grandkids what I’ve done. If I don’t make it to the end then that’s alright with me."
Talking about what he'll bring to the house, he added: "I describe myself as a very energetic, always lively person - I hate silence! I feel like I’m very good at communicating with people.
"I’m a good people person and I know how to speak to different people whether they’re from a different background to me, different character - even if we have next to nothing in common, I still feel like I could have a conversation with someone.
"I think I’m going to be the mediator but also with my age and the way I act, people are going to see me as that giddy, young person. I think I’m going to add a whole lot of things!"
Big Brother continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV X.
