Cast Away: Phillip Schofield 'won't work' for certain channels
Phillip Schofield has candidly revealed that there are certain channels he would never consider working for following his departure from ITV.
The well-known presenter, who gained fame co-hosting This Morning with Holly Willoughby, made a dramatic exit from the show in May 2023 after confessing to an unwise but not illegal affair with a younger male colleague.
At the time of his resignation, Schofield issued a heartfelt statement: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story."
He continued: "Throughout my career in TV including the very difficult last few days I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can't go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love. So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future."
While Holly Willoughby initially remained as the face of the morning programme, she too eventually stepped down. The show is now hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary taking over on Fridays, reports the Mirror.

In his latest venture on Channel 5, titled Phillip Schofield Cast Away, the broadcaster disclosed that a return to ITV was off the table, specifically ruling out any involvement with their popular reality series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
On his programme, he revealed: "We are trying to keep this secret. I'm apparently four to one to do the other jungle programme, although my best mates host it, there are some channels you just won't work for.
"Some people you won't work for. I've just got to get out of the country now without anyone thinking where the hell is he going? Not flying out of Heathrow or Gatwick because that would be too obvious, so I'm on my way to get the Eurostar."
Elsewhere on the show, Phillip burned a piece of paper with all the toxic people listed on.
Prior to this, he explained: "There's something I've done here that I haven't shared with you yet, and now's the time. Over the course of my 10 days, I have written down all the things and all the people who were and are toxic in my life and so I have that now, it's there, that's it. And now the toxic bank is empty, and the goodness bank is full. Don't dwell on what you have lost. Live for what you have and be grateful for it."
