All Creatures Great and Small has made a triumphant return to Channel 5, with Callum Woodhouse reprising his role as Tristan Farnon. The actor, who took a hiatus from his position in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, surprises his on-screen brother Siegfried, played by Samuel West.
Since the show's inception in 2020, Callum has portrayed Tristan and is also known for his roles in The Durrells and Cold Feet. Beyond All Creatures, he has appeared in short films such as Paper Cut and Big Cat.
Born in Stockton-on-Tees, the 30-year-old's father Kevin is an oil company managing director, while his mother Gail works as a nurse. In terms of his personal life, as of 2021, Callum was dating actress Callie Cooke.
He confessed that despite initially knowing little about his All Creatures character, it ultimately earned him the firm approval of his girlfriend's father.He previously stated: "When I got this role, I was finally accepted in his eyes. I was a bit apprehensive, but the nerves really came halfway through the job, when we were on set."
His girlfriend was equally thrilled to see Callum working alongside Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis, who portrayed Hugh Hulton. In a conversation with Masterpiece, he revealed: "Well, I'm a big Harry Potter fan, but who's an even bigger Harry Potter fan is my girlfriend and her family."
"They absolutely love it-my girlfriend's got a wand that she actually got from Ollivanders at Universal. And I think her sister's boyfriend is the exact same, they absolutely love it."
In 2024, it remains a mystery whether the couple are still an item.
Callum's second love is his Cavapoo Ralph, and he confessed to being "fully besotted".
On Instagram, Callum posted a charming picture of Ralph meeting Nicholas Ralph, star of 'All Creatures Great and Small'.

He amusingly captioned the image: "Ralph meets Ralph", with his beloved dog even getting a tour around the iconic Skeldale House set.
Callum humorously expressed a wish for his furry friend to feature in the show, despite Ralph being a Cavapoochon a mix of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Bichon Frise, and Toy Poodle.
Given that this breed only emerged in the 2000s, Ralph's appearance on the period drama would be a historical mismatch.
