Emmerdale: Ella threatens Wendy after attacking her
Paula Lane, who portrays Ella Forster in Emmerdale, has hinted at thrilling upcoming scenes for the popular ITV soap. The 38 year old former Coronation Street actress shared a photo on Instagram with co-stars Lisa Riley (Mandy Dingle) and Jonny McPherson (Liam Cavanagh), captioning it "@Emmerdale night shoot" along with a fire emoji.
Fans of the soap will know that night shoots often signal a dramatic storyline or stunt, leaving them eager to see what's in store for these characters. Following the night shoot, Paula celebrated Emmerdale's impressive victory at the National Television Awards.
She wrote: "WINNER - it was such a lovely surprise to get home after a night shoot to this news! I'm constantly amazed at how much goes into producing this show @emmerdale @itv It's a machine that doesn't stop and we [heart] it. Thank you to all the viewers who voted."
This comes after a tumultuous few months for Paula's character Ella on the hit ITV soap. The enigmatic character returned to the village in July after her deadly secret was revealed, leaving her love interest Liam shocked.
Upon her return, Ella discovered she was pregnant, leaving Liam utterly taken aback. However, in a devastating turn of events during a scan, no foetus could be found, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Ella's life took a turn for the worse as she tried to keep her killer secret from those outside the village, but things escalated when photos of her appeared on social media, thanks to Mandy's birthday surprise.
Her past caught up with her swiftly when June's nephew Gary tracked her down and confronted her about Joanne - the girl Ella killed - leaving her visibly shaken.
After a distressing encounter with Gary, who pursued a distraught Ella resulting in her collapse, Wendy Posner stepped in to help her off the scene but faced an unexpected violent reaction from Ella, leading to Ella's arrest.
Despite the turmoil, the actress playing Ella on Emmerdale, Paula, has shared some good news for fans by posting a selfie in character, complete with makeup portraying injuries, and confirming shes sticking around with a new contract.
"Oh, Ella... whatever next? ! I can confirm a new contract signed today for moi. Very happy to be calling Emmerdale my second home for the next chapter," she excitedly shared with her followers.
