The Repair Shop expert shares glimpse behind-the-scenes

The Repair Shop expert Julyan Wallis has confirmed he will be taking a break from the series after filming for the BBC series has finally wrapped up. The guitar expert took to social media to pay tribute to his co-stars, confirming that filming was nearing its end.

He posted a picture showing the experts outside of the iconic barn, captioning it: "These people. Series 10 draws to an end. Although a few days yet to go for some of us. Always a privilege and a joy although no one will miss the long days over the last 6 months! #stillpinchingmyself @therepairshoptv." (sic).

Julyan's co-stars and fans flocked to the comment section to wish him well. "Time you had a holiday," one said while another went on: "Always a pleasure Jules, hope to see you again soon! Xx."

A third added: " Always fun to see the folks behind the scenes get credit." Someone else commented: "Enjoy your holidays."

Julyan's post comes after his co-star and fellow expert Richard Talman confirmed his departure after filming for series 10 came to an end.

Richard delivered an emotional goodbye to his fellow cast members on Instagram accompanying a sneak peek video from behind the scenes featuring the production team.

Richard also expressed gratitude, highlighting the end of the current season's journey.

In his heartfelt message, he wrote: "Well, that's the end of filming series 10 for me! What a wonderful season with some fantastic people I have the pleasure to call workmates. You all know the experts, so wanted to feature the incredible production team that makes the series possible."

Signing off with immense thanks and a shoutout to their joint efforts, he added: "@therepairshop Thank you for having me. It's a wrap, as they say!"

When they're not filming for the BBC series, Richard runs his jewellers while Julyan has his own guitar repair business.

Julyan's love of guitars began when he was just 12, and as soon as he learned how to play, he used to also take them apart.

He told the BBC: "I used to take it apart pretty much as soon as I started, I wanted to know what made them tick. My friends used to get me to re-string their guitars."

Julyan initially began teaching private guitar lessons from his workshop, and later, in primary schools, the expert gradually gave this up over time to focus on his restoration skills.

The BBC star tends to keep his private life out of the limelight, but he currently lives in Cornwall with his wife Bonnie.

The Repair Shop is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
