Michelle Dewberry - the first ever female winner of The Apprentice, who went on to star on GB News - shared her harrowing story about her brother on an episode of her show Dewbs and Co.

The horrified host told of how a gang of merciless thieves had snatched his trainers while he lay trapped in a car after a serious accident. The 44-year-old was moved to discuss the incident while presenting a segment lamenting that British crime levels are too high.

She discussed a video clip of a Rochdale gang using a wheelie bin to swipe cigarettes and alcohol from a shop, which then prompted her heartbreaking confession. "One of my little brothers in Hull was in a car accident, and he got wedged in. This is a true story, he got wedged in the back of a car," she began.

"The car was wrapped around a tree. Somebody stole the car radio but also, no word of a lie, they then stole the trainers off my brother. So my brother was trapped in the car, and they stole the trainers off him before the ambulance got there," the angry star exclaimed.

"I'd forgotten about it, but when I think about it now, how revolting," she shuddered, adding that society may have been this way for "quite some time" already. Michelle first shot to fame in 2006 after landing a £100,000 job courtesy of Lord Alan Sugar.

She appeared on his show The Apprentice and made a new life for herself after dropping out of school aged 16 with just two GCSEs.

Although she went on to have a successful career, she has never forgotten her roots on a Hull council estate and the crime she battled there.

That said, she was still shocked by the video of the masked gang in Rochdale who jumped over the counter at a shop to steal packet after packet of cigarettes.

The gang then emptied their haul into a huge wheelie bin and rushed it towards a getaway car.

Staff at the Co-op store that was targeted were threatened by the thieves but fortunately avoided any injuries.

Meanwhile, the police continue to hunt the perpetrators, believed to be between their mid-teens and mid-20s, as they have so far got away scot free.

Despite the horror stories surrounding crime, Michelle also shared a heartwarming anecdote on her Twitter account this week.

"I just asked a taxi-driver to drop me at a cut through. He asked if I’d be ok and then I noticed he stayed and watched me get through safely before he drove off," she explained.

"Even though I am a tough cookie, I confess, I loved that. I hope chivalry never dies."
