Oasis tickets: Morning Live expert issues warning

BBC Morning Live's expert, Nick Stapleton, has issued a warning to Oasis fans during Thursday's show.

Earlier this week, the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, announced two additional shows at Wembley Stadium due to overwhelming demand for their comeback tour tickets.

This follows criticism of Ticketmaster by dedicated fans who spent hours in online queues unable to secure a ticket over the weekend while some tickets also skyrocketed in price. Responding to what they termed "phenomenal demand", the Gallagher brothers have now announced two extra London shows in September 2025.

These performances will take place at Wembley on September 27 and 28 and will be sold via an invitation-only ballot. Discussing the news on Thursday's BBC Morning Live, the show's expert, Nick, who specialises in uncovering crime and scams, cautioned viewers to be wary of ticket fraudsters.

Nick stated: "Obviously scammers as we know like to stay in touch with things that are very hot at the moment as they know they can take advantage of that. Obviously, the Oasis reunion is massive. On Monday, we talked about this dynamic pricing issue of people paying up to £350 a ticket, which is £200 more than they should have cost."

He added: "Oasis have now said they're going to do two more dates with this staggered invitation-only ballot process. Basically, if you were unsuccessful in the initial ballot, you should now have new dates open to you first, which seems like a very fair way of doing things", reports Wales Online.

"Scammers will obviously try and take advantage of any confusion about this. Oasis are saying the official resale will start on Monday, it will be on Ticketmaster and Twickets, the band's team are going to monitor listings on resale sites such as Viagogo and if you're buying tickets through them, they're probably going to be cancelled.

"My top tip is to say this, if you don't get tickets please, for Oasis or any other big gig like this, please don't post about it on social media and say: 'I'm so gutted I didn't get tickets for Oasis or for Taylor Swift or whatever it might be'. Scammers have bots that are set up to respond to key phrases, which will then push you towards them, where they will try to scam you for fake tickets."

In a statement earlier this week, Oasis said applications to join the ballot will first be opened to people who failed to get tickets to the original shows via Ticketmaster on Saturday. They said: "Two extra Wembley Stadium shows have been added due to phenomenal demand. Tickets will be sold by a staggered, invitation-only ballot process.

"Applications to join the ballot will be opened first to the many UK fans who were unsuccessful in the initial on-sale with Ticketmaster. More details to follow."

Morning Live airs on weekdays at 9:30am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
