Clive Owen admits he had 'huge part' to play in Amanda split

Amanda Owen and her family are tackling a new challenge as More4 is heading to the Yorkshire Dales once again.

The new 10-part series will see the Yorkshire Shepherdess renovate a derelict farmhouse with the help of her children and ex, Clive.

After buying a run-down property nearby, for their family's future, Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids will follow their journey to breathe life back into the home.

Along with Amanda and Clive's nine children, a team of local tradespeople will be called in to transform the farmhouse, which is known in the area as Anty John’s.

However, it looks as though it won't be straightforward as they'll have to battle the changing seasons and elements along with restoring a listed property in a remote location.

Speaking about the upcoming show, Amanda confessed the project has been no easy feat and is excited to share the process with viewers.

She said:"It is fantastic More4 have given us the opportunity to showcase what we do best, working as a team and battling the elements whilst trying to reinstate the farm next door to its former glory.

"It is no exaggeration to say that filming outdoors on an exposed hill end in Swaledale was at times a huge challenge for the Wise Owl film crew, but their dedication and enthusiasm has never waned.

"This new project has been a huge undertaking for the whole family and one we are excited to be able to share with the viewers at home.”

Adding to the excitement, commissioning editor for Channel 4 Jayne Stanger emphasised how challenging the show was for the family.

She said: "We are thrilled to be welcoming Amanda back onto More4 and it’s an absolute joy to have been granted this incredible access to Amanda, Clive and their wonderful family as they embark on such a challenging renovation.

"I’ve no doubt our audience will enjoy sharing this fascinating journey with them as well as basking in the stunning Yorkshire scenery that has been so brilliantly captured by the talented team at Wise Owl.”

In 2022, Amanda and Clive announced they were separating after being married for 22 years - which she admitted was a "release of pressure".

Speaking to Christine Lampard on the Lorraine show, she said the reality series "covers the ups and downs" so had to reflect the break up of their marriage.

She added: "So life carries on, on the farm, obviously there is a whole [range] of things to do. I have nine children, a whole heap of animals, and we are just working away the same as before because, at the end of the day, our priority remains to keep everything going. There you go, that's how it is, I felt it needed to be put out there."

The pair first met in 1996 when Amanda worked as a trainee shepherdess on the farm when she was 21.

Tying the knot in 2000, they went on to have nine children together who were featured in their hit Channel 5 show, Our Yorkshire Farm.

But Clive confessed the show was a huge change in their lives, which he didn't handle well. Speaking about the split, Clive told Lorraine Kelly on her ITV show: "I sadly made a right mess of things. I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending. A massive part to play. When all this was going on, here I am ranting and raving and drinking and carrying on."

It's not yet known when Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids will air.
