GMB: Kate admits to taking work calls from the toilet

Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway left her co-host utterly gobsmacked on Wednesday, prompting the show to abruptly transition to a commercial break after she made an astonishing admission.

During Wednesday's programme, 57 year old Kate and her co-presenter Ed Balls, also 57, were at the helm when they broached the topic of people making work calls from the loo.

Prior to their debate, ITV correspondent Marverine Cole shared insights from a recent survey indicating a concerning trend: "The average Brit goes three weeks without eating a green vegetable and many go a month without eating a single fruit according to a new survey. NHS guidance states that we should eat five fruits and veg a day to stay healthy."

Marverine turned to Kate and Ed with a question, probing: "The question is how much fruit and vegetables did you eat yesterday?"

Kate confessed to the audience: "I've just realised I didn't eat anything green yesterday but I had fruit," reports the Mirror.

Ed chimed in with his culinary efforts from the previous evening: "I made a stir fry with plenty of vegetables last night but the thing I'm interested in is if there is a link between your story with vegetables and our conversation."

Addressing the viewers directly, Kate teased: "That's because we are talking about if you have ever... You might want to confess to us if you have."

She continued, questioning: "Is there a limit on multitasking?"

The segment then switched to a pre-recorded clip where members of the public weighed in, with one man endorsing the efficient nature of multitasking: "Absolutely it's efficient, right?"

Kate left co-host Ed speechless in the studio after her confession, saying: "I'm with him because I have done it. I'm going to confess right now. A survey has revealed that I am among 39 percent of Brits who have admitted to taking work calls in the loo."

Ed was flabbergasted by her admission, responding with a shout: "No."

Unfazed, Kate replied: "Yes I have." Ed protested: "No, that is unbelievable."

To which Kate responded: "I'm going to get shamed, aren't I? It's the best use of time but now no one is going to call me during work time."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
