22 Kids and Counting Season 5: Teaser trailer
On Sunday night’s instalment of 22 Kids and Counting, Chloe Radford was reduced to tears after learning her brother Luke was thinking about leaving the factory. In the past, the pair had once fallen out at work which resulted in them not speaking for a year.
Now that their relationship is back on track, Luke is worried they will fall out again now that their dad Noel has taken a step back from the business. As his third year in the bakery approaches, Luke confessed he doesn’t particularly want to leave.
He said: “Working with your family, it’s special,” not wanting to risk another bust-up, Luke decided to look for work elsewhere.
During the episode, Luke revealed that until he has another job lined up, he won’t be saying anything to his sister. Although his secret was revealed in the show when Chloe answered a phone call from someone looking to speak to her dad.
In the phone call, she explained Noel wasn't around but was available to help as the woman on the other end detailed the reason for the call. She told Chloe they were following up on a CV they had received from Luke.
Clearly shocked by the unexpected call as the voiceover commented: “Luke’s secret is out!”
Touching on what had happened, Chloe said: “I’m a little bit taken aback. I don’t really get it, I thought he was quite happy here.
“I thought he could speak to me, we’re on good terms again. If he is unhappy here I would rather he speaks to me about it and see if we can do anything rather than him just leaving.”
Starting to get emotional over Luke going behind her back, Chloe wiped tears away as she highlighted her upset.

She continued: “I’m not happy about my brother keeping secrets from me. I daren’t speak to him right now, I might say something I’ll regret.”
Later on in the episode, Channel 5 viewers saw Chloe reveal Luke’s plan to find a new job to their dad, who was equally unimpressed.
Deciding to call a family meeting, he sat down with his two children to try and get to the bottom of it all.
Asking if he was leaving, Luke confirmed he was looking at somewhere as he told his dad: “With you stepping back, it means me taking a lot more direction from Chloe. Last time we fell out it was over work.”
Luke told them both that he didn’t want to jeopardise his relationship with Chloe or her daughter.
However, Chloe told her brother they work together really well together and wants him to continue working at the factory.
In the end, they made a pact that any conflict they have in the workplace doesn't transpire into their family life.
Agreeing with her suggestion, Luke decided to continue working together in the factory.
To the camera, he said: “After talking things through it’s given me so much confidence that we talk through any problem in work and still be friends outside of work which is the most important thing to me.”
22 Kids and Counting continues Sundays on Channel 5 from 8pm.
