Jane McDonald 'mind blown' after emotional experience

Jane McDonald broke down in tears during the latest repeat of her Channel 5 travel series, Jane McDonald: Cruising USA. The hour-and-a-half-long episode saw the former cruise ship singer boarding a 3,000-berth cruise ship bound for San Francisco.

During her trip, Jane met former Dallas star Linda Gray, she attended a wedding and had an all-over massage that involved her body being coated with chocolate.

During her trip, Jane paid a visit to a health and wellness centre that promised to "supercharge your body and upgrade your brain".

However, things took a turn after Jane asked the cameras to stop rolling after she broke down in tears.

"Is this going to make me feel like I am going to die as well?" Jane asked as the expert revealed: "No, this is called our virtual float tank, but it is a meditation pod.

"There is going to be a combination of flashing lights that are synchronised with rhythm in your ears. This entire machine spins at the same speed as the Earth so it's grounding while you're in it."

Jane looked apprehensive as she lay down in the machine and after 30 minutes in the pod, she said: "Oh my god."

When asked how the experience was, the presenter admitted: "I am sobbing. That's really emotional."

"Wow," Jane added as she tried to fight back tears. "Blimey that is your brain, that's your brain doing that to you.

"You know when you hear these stories of people dying and they follow the light, that's how it felt. That has blown my mind. Thank goodness that we did that, that is something I will never forget."

As she thanked the experts for their help, Jane broke down in tears again.

"I am off again," she sobbed. "That is so emotional."

She took a breath before putting her hand to the camera and demanded: "Turn that thing off."

Jane McDonald: Cruising USA is available to watch on Channel 5.
