Good Morning Britain has been issued a devastating blow as new research has revealed it is the most complained about TV show of 2024 so far.

According to data analysed by online casino site Nodeposit365, GMB's controversial news topics have garnered thousands of calls from furious viewers, with the next TV show receiving less than half of the number of complaints.

The data, which was gathered from Ofcom between 2nd January and 15th July 2024, showed that Good Morning Britain received a whopping 2,413 complaints this year. The breakfast show, currently fronted by Susanna Reid, Ranvir Singh, Charlotte Hawkins and Kate Garraway, as well as Ed Balls, Richard Madeley and Adil Ray, saw a staggering 1,634 complaints lodged after a broadcast on 30th May.

This particular episode sparked outrage due to a fiery debate over the contentious XL Bully dog breed, as viewers were left stunned as an XL Bully was brought onto the set mid-show.

The debate sparked 1,500 complaints alone from horrified fans as they raged over the "shouting match" and the dangerous decision to bring a dog in front of cameras on set.

This Morning came in second place with 1,264 complaints. The morning chat show faced backlash after guest Nick Ferrari made comments during the 28th May episode, suggesting his ideal airline wouldn't accommodate those with nut allergies, leading to 637 complaints.

Emmerdale took the third spot with 1,189 complaints. An episode aired on 27th May led to 826 complaints, primarily due to a distressing scene involving Piper, a beloved pet from the show.

Love Island has received 651 Ofcom complaints since the beginning of the year, ranking it fourth. The episode aired on 26th June alone accounted for 210 of these complaints due to concerns over a conflict between contestants Jess and Harriett.

Hollyoaks is in fifth place with 358 Ofcom complaints. All these grievances were lodged following several episodes that aired from 4th to 7th March, which centred around a storyline involving a transgender child character.

GMB airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
