Coronation Street fans suspect that Kit Green is concealing another secret from his newfound family as they anticipate his next move.

The ITV soap's audience first met the police officer, played by Jacob Roberts, earlier this year when Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrobe) embarked on a quest to find the son she had given up.

Zodiac was adopted shortly after his birth and renamed Christopher Green. When Bernie discovered Kit, she rummaged through his drawers under the guise of being a cleaner.

He initially denied being adopted, but it was later confirmed that Bernie had indeed found her long-lost son.

Kit seemed to target Bernie, unnecessarily bringing her into the police station, much to DS Lisa Swain's chagrin. Eventually, the truth about him being Bernie's biological son emerged, but he made it clear he wanted nothing to do with her or her family.

However, he appeared to have a change of heart and, to the fans' frustration, has continued to make life difficult for his biological mother. Amid the loss of his adoptive mother, he has managed to turn Bernie's other children, Paul Foreman and Gemma Winter-Brown, against her, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Emotional scenes unfolded on Monday (July 22) when Paul, who is terminally ill with Motor Neurone Disease diagnosed last year, gathered his family with the help of his husband Billy Mayhew. He expressed how much he needed them in his final days, and not at odds with each other.

Billy convened a family summit, during which Paul broadcasted a pre-recorded confession to his kin, admitting his terminal illness and pleading for an end to the familial strife, stressing his dire need for his mother's support as his health rapidly declines.

The clan was visibly moved by Paul's heartfelt plea, and subsequently, they shared a poignant moment together at the Rovers. Amidst the gathering, Gemma, facing eviction alongside Chesney, felt disheartened by the lack of affordable rental properties.

Yet, Kit dropped a subtle clue about securing his own abode, conveniently situated near his newfound relatives, sparking speculation among Corrie viewers.

One fan speculated: "I think Kit has bought Gemma's house because he said he has found somewhere near by to live." Another commented: "Kit has definitely bought Gemma's house, he might use it against Bernie in some way because i don't think that he is being completely honest about wanting to have a relationship with her, i wouldn't trust him at all."

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
