Time Bandits: Official trailer on Apple TV+

Presumed Innocent has finally concluded following a gripping eight-part series.

The final episode of Apple TV+'s hit legal drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal landed on the streaming service on Wednesday, July 24, and viewers finally got to find out the truth behind Carolyn's murder.

The thriller is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Scott Turow and episodes have been dropping weekly on a Wednesday since the show's debut.

Presumed Innocent follows Jake in the lead role of chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich, and takes viewers on a gripping journey through the horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office when Rusty is suspected of the crime.

The star-studded ensemble cast of the thriller also includes Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, and Renate Reinsve.

According to Apple TV+ the series "explores obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together."

And it's safe to say the drama has gone down a storm with viewers, with many wondering if the series, which has been hailed as "one of the best legal thrillers to arrive on television in years," will get a second instalment.

Will there be a Presumed Innocent season 2 on Apple TV+?

Yes, following its widely acclaimed premiere last month, Apple TV+ announced earlier this month that Presumed Innocent is set to return for a second season.

The second series, however, will unfold around a suspenseful, brand-new case.

Apple TV+ has also confirmed that Multi-Emmy Award winners David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel Rusch Rich, Dustin Thomason and Matthew Tinker will return to executive produce, and author Scott Turow will serve as co-executive producer.

The first season of Presumed Innocent is now streaming on Apple TV+ with the highly anticipated season finale set to air on Wednesday, July 24.
