22 Kids and Counting fans have voiced the same grievance as Britain's largest family returned to screens for a new series.

The Radfords, who first gained fame in 2021 when their reality show aired on Channel 5, have once again opened their home to cameras for the fifth series, which premiered on Sunday (July 21).

In forthcoming episodes, Noel delves into his biological family history, Millie reveals significant personal news, and young Casper takes the spotlight as he pursues his football aspirations.

However, viewers quickly took to social media to highlight a recurring issue with the show, labelling it as "fake" just minutes into the first episode of the new series.

On X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer wrote: "More scripted, fake nonsense. #22kidsandcounting.", reports the Mirror.

Another chimed in: "The latest instalment in the contrived and scripted fake life of Britain's biggest family @channel5_tv #22kidsandcounting."

A third agreed, stating: "This actually used to be an interesting programme. Now it's just a scripted soap. @channel5_tv #22KidsAndCounting. " A fourth added: "Christ! It's not even 5 minutes in and it's contrived and scripted already."

In the new episode, the Radford children shared their future career aspirations. With one child wanting to be "a unicorn", another aiming to become "a silly farmer", and another hoping to work as "a figure skater", parents Sue and Noel expressed their support for their 22 children's ambitious dreams.

Sue revealed: "I think when I were younger I wanted to be an air hostess." Her husband Noel confirmed: "You did, didn't you. yeah that's right. He added: "I think the only thing I wanted when I was growing up. I had a picture of a red Porsche on my bed."

The conversation later shifted to their massive family and Sue disclosed that they never intended to have 22 children. Sue stated: "We never actually wanted a big family, did we?" Noel responded: "No, we always wanted three."

The couple are parents to Chris, 34, Sophie, 29, Chloe, 28, Jack, 26, Daniel, 24, Luke, 22, Millie, 22, Katie, 21, James, 19, Ellie, 18, Aimee, 17, Josh, 16, Max, 14, Tillie, 13, Oscar, 11, Casper, 10, Hallie, eight, Phoebe, seven, Archie, six, Bonnie, four and Heidie, three.
