Douglas is Cancelled: Madeline issues threat to Toby
ITV's Douglas Is Cancelled has left audiences split as the captivating drama concluded on Thursday night.
The miniseries, crafted and penned by Steven Moffat and directed by Ben Palmer, revolves around news anchor Douglas Bellowes, portrayed by Hugh Bonneville. Douglas finds himself in a tricky situation when he is accused of making a sexist joke at a wedding and encounters cancel culture.
Unaccustomed to being sidelined, Douglas attempts to salvage his reputation. After another guest tweets about the joke, it goes viral, leaving Douglas and his team at TV programme Live 6 with the daunting task of trying to mend the damage.
As the dramatic series wrapped up on ITV, several revelations were also unveiled. However, for some viewers who tuned into the final episode, they were left feeling somewhat disappointed.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Might be the most tedious b*****t ever put on TV.", reports the Mirror.
Another vented: "I thought it might get better but nope, it's still s**t."
A third also commented: "If my husband says one more time this is s**t , I swear to God."
Despite some criticism, many agreed that the performances in the show were outstanding. Offering a different perspective, some viewers were quick to praise Bonneville as well as Karen Gillan who played leading lady Madeline.

One viewer exclaimed: "You were supposed to be my friend" #DouglasIsCancelled @karengillangives an exceptional performance. I have just finished the final episode. Karen is an acting powerhouse! Poor Madeline - you could see the vulnerability so much. Karen's portrayal was fabulous."
Another wrote: "Wow, last episode of #DouglasIsCancelled. Remarkable performance by @karengillan and Hugh Bonneville. It's not just the abusive men, it's those who do nothing about it. Powerful and uncomfortable at times. Worth watching."
Meanwhile, a third stunned viewer penned: "I am lost for words! This episode is brilliant on so many levels. Madeline's revenge is a tribute to women who have being wronged by men during their career. Douglas the nice guy did deserve to be cancelled."
