Coronation Street fans were all left issuing the same complaint as the soap has introduced another teenage character.
Newcomer Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) made her debut last month - with it later being revealed that she is the daughter of DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers). Betsy was introduced as the pal of Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos).
Besty spotted her pal growing close to creepy lawyer Joel Deering (Calum Lill), who as fans will know is a crazed psychopath, responsible for the disappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
Betsy warned Sabrina about Joel and she has since started blackmailing him - not knowing just how dangerous he really is. What’s more, Betsy has also landed work experience at Carla Connor’s (Alison King) factory.
However, during Monday’s episode (July 15) Besty ended up blackmailing Carla, after watching her knock a vile lad, who harassed Roy Cropper (David Neilson) last week, off his bike - and leaving him in the road.
Betsy told Carla she wouldn’t tell anyone about the hit and run - but only if she gave her a summer job at the factory. Panicked, Carla agreed - much to the delight of Betsy.
But with Besty now settling into life on the cobbles, it appears fans are not too happy with the new storyline involving another teenager. So much so, that fans have dubbed the soap “boring” and “predictable.”
Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, fans dished out the complaints. One person said: “Sorry @itvcorrie introducing another blond teen with an attitude is a terrible idea, getting very boring now.”

Someone else added: “I agree. The storylines stink of desperation. So many real life situations that could be scripted which would make Coronation Street a pleasure to watch again. Latest storylines make it predictable and boring. Time to get real.”
A third penned: “I know we need younger characters but why do you insist on constantly introducing revolting teenage characters? Not that fantastic an example to anyone young who’s watching. Can we have someone nice for a change?”
Another chimed in and proclaimed: “Uncredulous naff storyline, especially with this spoilt teen.” A fifth wrote: “Another awful character is yet again introduced with another ridiculous storyline, this criticism isn't aimed at the actress herself in any way.”
