Coronation Street fans 'rumble' identity of DS Swain's daughter Betsy

Betsy Swain, the daughter of DS Swain, is set to make her first appearance on Coronation Street.

Carla Connor (played by Alison King) recently offered Betsy a work experience opportunity at Underworld after becoming close with her mother. She will begin her new role next week.

New boss Carla and Fiz Brown (Jenny McAlpine) are impressed with Betsy's machining skills. However, tension arises when Carla catches Betsy texting on the job and confiscates her phone.

Although viewers have not yet been introduced to Betsy, they believe she is the friend of Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos) who recently warned her about the dubious solicitor Joel Deering (Callum Lil).

Later, viewers saw the unidentified newcomer confront Joel and attempt to blackmail him, threatening to reveal his unsettling behaviour.

Soap fans think they've figured out the identity of the newcomer. On X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer speculated: "Sabrina's mate looks a lot like DS Swain, is this her daughter? It's gonna go down for Joel in #Corrie!"

A fan crystalised the theory: "Just a thought, what if Sabrina's mystery unnamed friend (the one who is blackmailing Joel) is Betsy - DS Swain's daughter? "

Another carried on: "Swains daughter 100%" and yet another speculated: "As a guess DS swains daughter as she is supposed to be appearing."

A particularly observant reddit user threw in their two cents, claiming: "Word is around the web that we have already met Betsy, as a new video on the Official Twitter was posted late last night of Sabrina's friend taunting Joel."

"The friend has not been named as of today, feeding into the curiosity. Does the enigmatic Betsy Swain loom over Sabrina, forewarning her to steer clear from Joel? As theories continue to swirl, with fans left in anticipation until next week when Betsy's true identity might finally be unveiled.
