BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhust made a cheeky comment about her co-star Sarah Keith-Lucas' outfit on the show after sharing news about Gordon Ramsay's near-death accident. The 57-year-old chef told fans he is "lucky to be alive" after coming off his bike in Connecticut, resulting in heavily bruised ribs and midriff.

Gordon stressed in a video that if he hadn't had his helmet on, he "wouldn't be here now" in a video to fans on Father's Day. Nina said seeing the chef's bruised body made her "wince" to which Ben Boulos added: "It looks so painful."

As they then handed over to Sarah, who opted for a navy top and purple skirt to latest the weather forecast, Nina likened her purple skirt to Gordon's bruise. She said: "Sarah joins us for the weather now, with a skirt to match Gordon Ramsay's bruise."

In response, the meteorologist said: "Absolutely it looked horrific didn't it, poor Gordon," and proceeded to share details about the not-so-pleasant weather nationwide. Unimpressed with what she just heard, Nina replied: "Thank you Sarah, it's not getting any better is it?"

Later on in the show, Sarah said despite the disappointing lack of nice weather so far in many parts across the UK, she had seen an improvement for Sunday and the next coming days. After Nina expressed her enthusiasm to watch tonight's England game in the garden, Sarah advised her to put up a gazebo just in case.

In recent weeks, viewers have called for Nina to have a more permanent role on the show.

A platform X user commented: "Hello @BBCBreakfast. I think you should give Nina Warhurst a full time role on the programme, she’s too good and not on enough for my liking. #BBCBreakfast."

"#BBCBreakfast How lovely to see Nina on the sofa this morning," another wrote.

"#BBCBreakfast Nina definitely is the number 1 female presenter she is so easy to relate to," a third added.

The presenter regularly gives fans an insight into her family life on her social media pages, where she has a combined 60,000 followers.

In a different post to her usual content this week, Nina paid tribute to author Michael Mosley who died aged 67 earlier this month.

Alongside a picture of the pair on the show, she wrote on X: "Don’t often ask for snaps with guests, but he changed my life

"Intermittent fasting so I can enjoy my treats…using my brain in different ways because of a family history of dementia

"Always in awe of his capacity as a broadcaster to make complex theories accessible to all."
