Bonus scene of Det. Muncy's Law and Order: SVU goodbye
Law and Order Organized Crime will be making a comeback but a massive change is on the horizon for the spin-off.
The NBC series is the third spin-off to come from the mothership, following former Captain Olivia Benson’s (played by Mariska Hargitay) partner detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) who left SVU in season 12.
The legal drama is currently airing its fourth season and while Law and Order and SVU were renewed in March, Organized Crime fans had yet to hear about its future.
It was reported that the series returning wasn’t a guarantee due to the “relatively low ratings and multiple changes in showrunners” but now there is good news.
Law and Order Organized Crime will be back for season five, although some key decisions have been made regarding its future.

The biggest difference going forward will be that Organized Crime is no longer going to air on NBC.
The spin-off will be finding a new home on the network’s streaming service Peacock instead where it is going to be shown exclusively.
As well as Organized Crime, the latest episodes of other Wolf Entertainment shows like the rest of the Law and Order franchise and One Chicago, will drop on the service the day after airing on NBC.
Another major change is that the spin-off is going to be far shorter than its sister shows still airing on the network.

According to Deadline, Organized Crime season five will consist of just 10 episodes when it does make its debut on Peacock.
Season eight may have only had eight instalments, but its second and third series had the standard 22 episodes each, following in the footsteps of Law and Order and SVU.
However, due to the lack of ratings, the fourth series had just 13 episodes and will be downgraded once again when season five airs on Peacock with just 10.
While it is new territory for Organized Crime to switch to another network, this isn’t the first time this has happened.
Law and Order Criminal Intent ran for 11 seasons before it was cancelled in 2011, originally airing on NBC.
But for its final four series, the spin-off starring Kathryn Erbe and Vincent D’Onofrio, was moved over to the USA Network.
As the drama has only just been announced, an official return date for Organized Crime and the rest of the franchise hasn’t yet been shared.
The Law and Order franchise is available to watch on NBC.
