Bradley Walsh introduced contestants Terri, Diego, Claire, and Jack to The Chase before one contestant made a comment leaving the presenter speechless.

The foursome was up against Shaun Wallace, otherwise known as "The Dark Destroyer" as they competed for the big cash prize.

Claire, from Manchester, racked up an impressive £7,000 during the cash builder round but things got intense when she went head-to-head with the quizmaster.

As Shaun took his seat, he joked that she would be the next contender to leave.

He remarked: "Hello Claire, right I'm going to knock you out."

Claire hit back: "Well I'm going to knock you out!"

Host Bradley intervened as he assured Claire the quizmaster had no intention of having a physical fight.

"He doesn't mean physically, he means in the game. [As if you said] 'I'll knock you out!," Bradley said.

The ITV host then mocked fellow presenter Harry Hill by shouting "FIGHT!" as he used to do on his TV show, Harry Hill's TV Burp.

But it wasn't meant to be for Claire as she was unable to defeat the Chaser and was eliminated.

However, things didn't exactly go to plan for Shaun in the final round of The Chase when he went up against contestants Jack and Diego who had a secured a prize fund of £15,000 and correctly answered 16 questions.

But viewers were left furious as many suggested the quizzer threw the game after Shaun froze up 15 seconds over an "easy" question to lose the final. During the final, the quizzer failed to get one question correct with him only making progress with 50 seconds remaining on the clock.

@Sundusmalik76 tweeted: "Never seen Shaun do this bad #thechase." @jules31red said: "#TheChase the dark destroyers wheels feel off tonight, unbelievable and beautiful to watch."

@deli21girl remarked: "What a farce #thechase."

@ShadeyAdy said: "I seriously thought my TV had froze after the Tennis question #Darkdestroyer #TheChase."
