The Chase: Romanda fails to answer on time

As another episode of The Chase aired on Wednesday, viewers slammed the show after a contestant failed to press her buzzer on time. Romanda from Solihull was facing up against Darragh Ennis, otherwise known as The Menace, but timed herself out after not pressing the buzzer.

Fans weren't happy with the contestant for her blunder and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to slam the "shambles" of an episode. One annoyed X user expressed: "#TheChase You have one job. To press within 5 seconds. If you can't do that, you shouldn't be on."

Another viewer said: "#thechase What's wrong with her, press the button." Somebody else penned: "#BradleyWalsh says 'Need an answer' - so just press anything! There's a one in three chance it will be right, but not pressing means you've definitely got it wrong!"

Yet another wrote: "I don't understand how people run out of time on #TheChase." A fifth exasperated X user said: "Possibly the worst episode of #TheChase ever so far."

While a sixth added: "At this rate the contestants will end up owing the chasers money #thechase." Romanda lost against Darragh and was forced to exit the show, leaving three contestants for the final chase.

Haydn from Cheshire, Makyla from Buckinghamshire and Roger from Sutton Coldfield made it one step further to winning the show.

On Monday's episode, Emma from Kettering managed to win £10,000 in the group's cash builder, a feat that is rarely done.

Host Bradley Walsh was left very impressed with her performance and praised her following her great round.

The Gladiators presenter clapped for Emma, before saying: "10 grand. 10, that very rarely happens. Brilliant performance, gotta be happy about that," he asked before she responded: "I'm very happy Brad, very happy."

Bradley added: "All we've gotta do is get you to the final because you're a good player and you're quick." One excited fan said on social media: "B****y hell, that's excellent! #TheChase."

Another eagle-eyed ITV viewer expressed: "What a cash builder, go on! #TheChase."

Somebody else wrote: "£10k!! What a performance #TheChase."

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
