viewers were left stumped on Tuesday evening after spotting an uncanny resemblance between one player and a Hollywood actor. During the repeated episode, fans were introduced to contestant Valentine.

Although he managed to earn an impressive amount in his cashbuilder, answering six questions correctly, it was his appearance that left viewers distracted. Taking to Twitter, @Denhaag1969 commented: “Definitely Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

As social media user @R3TRO8OY shared a video of Uncle Phil from the sitcom during Valentine’s round, @C62764652Clark replied: “First thing I said was ‘it’s Uncle Phil’”.

@celtic196721 added: “I recognise Valentine from another programme - just can’t remember which one.” While another replied with a video of Uncle Phil and Will Smith.

During the episode, which was originally broadcast on February 14, 2022, host commented on what he was called. Before his cashbuilder, he said: “Fantastic name, I love that name mate.”

The contestant replied: “I was born on Valentine’s Day!”

Speaking about his hobbies, Valentine admitted he’s a keen cyclist as Bradley asked: “You’re not one of those men in lycra are you?”

As the audience burst into laughter, the player told the host he didn’t before joking he was too big to get into it.

Touching on what he’d like to do with the money should he win, Valentine explained he’d want to buy a car as his was made before 2000.

In the end, it was Valentine and Chris who made it through to the final chase after players Wasim and Victoria were caught.

Being given two minutes on the clock and a two-step headstart the team managed to set an impressive target of 18 for to try and beat.

Speaking about their score, Bradley commented: “Brilliant, that was great, you’ve got to be pleased with that!”

However, when it came to Anne’s turn at the table, the quizzer dominated the round and caught them with 25 seconds left to spare.

Touching on their loss, Bradley said: “One attempt to push back, one executed. Caught with 25 seconds remaining so that’s another six questions.

“They’re hitting 25 at that pace so we've got to get to 21,22 to really make them stretch, but a brilliant performance.”

While Anne commented: “I’m afraid sorry guys, you really did very very well there. But, you can’t push me back if I’m not getting them wrong.”

The Chase continues weekdays on ITV from 5pm.
