Saturday Night Takeaway: Pranking Simon Cowell undercover
Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway fans have been left sorely disappointed after ITV cancelled the latest live show to make way for the Six Nations Championship. The much-loved programme has been taken off air tonight (March 16) along with The 1% Club and the Gladiators semi-final on BBC to make way for an evening of sport.
The FA Cup clash between Manchester City and Newcastle United kicked off on BBC One at 5:10pm with extended coverage, while the Six Nations rugby scheduled to broadcast on ITV from 3:55pm until 10:30pm.
Presenters Ant and Dec informed viewers there would be no Saturday Night Takeaway tonight at the end of last week's show, promising fans they would return Saturday, March 23.
The famous duo then issued another announcement, reminding those hoping to tune in that they will be absent from the ITV schedule this weekend.
Sharing a string of snaps from previous shows, Ant and Dec took to their joint Instagram account and wrote: "Our #SaturdayNightTakeaway camera roll so far...No show tonight but we're excited for more of this next week! See you then."

However, fans who hadn't realised the show wouldn't be broadcasting this week were left gutted and took to social media to air their frustrations.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), @g0ld3nstar2 stated: "Actually so sad that Saturday night takeaway isn’t on tonight. AFTER A LONG HARD DAY WORKING HOSPITALITY I was excited to get home and watch it. BUT THEY'RE PLAYING THE RUGBY INSTEAD. Why the hell would I prefer to spend my Saturday night watching rugby." (sic)
@eliseeeetw exclaimed: "Doesn’t feel like Saturday without Saturday Night Takeaway on TV."
@HarryFan4Life_ said: "Damn, just remembered there's no Saturday night takeaway on tv tonight", followed by a sad face emoji.
