Kaye Adams presented Loose Women and was joined by panellists Dame Kelly Holmes, Sue Cleaver and Gloria Hunniford where they were joined by Esther Rantzen's daughter Rebecca Wilcox.
But things got awkward when the host was forced to interject when Gloria, 83, attempted to ask Rebecca a question but was shut down by Kaye.
It comes after Esther's daughter gave viewers an update on her mum's health, who was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, as she explained they are awaiting the presenter's latest scan results and also discussed her signing up to Dignitas - an assisted dying clinic in Switzerland.
Host Kaye explained that Esther had recorded a message they planned to play to the live audience but Gloria had cheekily interrupted to pose a question.
She commented: "I just wanted to say..."
Kaye quickly interjected: "We were just going to listen [to Esther]."
Gloria went on: "I was just going to ask..." before the presenter stepped in and said they did not have long to go and wanted to play the recording.
"We've got a message from Esther," Kaye added, as the show producers played the recording.
Viewers to X as social media users reacted to the awkward exchange between the presenters.
