Coronation Street: Asha appears embarrassed by Nina
Coronation Street fans were not happy with Asha Alahan (played by Tanisha Gorey) tonight as she appeared to be embarrassed by her girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher).
The paramedic in training invited Nina to join her and her colleagues for lunch. Nina assured her that she was looking forward to dining with Isla and her senior colleague, Miles, as it was time they got to know each other’s friends.
However, Nina arrived at Speed Daal in time to hear Asha bigging up her to Miles and Isla and explaining that she’s a budding fashion designer.
This led to huge embarrassment as Nina explained that she worked in Roy's Rolls while Asha looked mortified.
While Isla and Miles were magnanimous saying that they clearly misunderstood, fans were not as forgiving and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.
A fan with the handle @mikepriestley13 was not happy, asking: "Why is Asha lying about Nina? Don’t like what she’s doing there. #Corrie."
A user called @rosskiernan_ agreed questioning: "Why would Asha lie about what Nina does? #corrie." (sic)
@DavidBoink simply pointed out: "Asha's ashamed of Nina working in cafe. So lowbrow #Corrie."
@TellyVsPodcasts pondered: "Why is Asha ashamed of Nina To be fair their relationship has been fading out for a long time now. Best for them to cut their losses and get on with their own lives #Corrie."
@Clawmaw concurred with this commenting: "Nina and Asha need to split up. I'm bored of their scenes together. #CoronationStreet #Corrie." (sic)

However, Nina did actually design garments for Underworld at one point and @LunaLocoJewels recalled: "Did Nina not swan around for a bit telling everyone she was a designer, get handed a few jobs from the factory on a platter, courtesy of Carla and is she not doing a course in fashion design? But don't mention the fashion thing, asha #Corrie." (sic)
@itzzzo_ also remembered this asking: "Didn't Nina design stuff for Underworld for about 5 minutes, Asha? #Corrie." (sic)
Meanwhile, someone using the handle @HildaOgdenOnSea remembered a very important point about Nina's job. She said: "Roy has previously signed everything over to her meaning that technically it is her business. "Surely Nina also *owns* the cafe she works in? #Corrie #RoysRolls #NinasRolls," they reminded people.
However, it looks like things won't get better for the couple anytime soon as official spoilers reveal that Isla and Asha agree to meet up and study.
However, Isla reveals she’d rather spend the day with Asha in the Bistro getting drunk. Despite her confusion, Asha agrees and the pair head off to enjoy their day. But how will Nina feel?
