Min Hee-jin claims she may have to sell her home to cover US$1.7million in legal costs over HYBE feud

Former  ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin has claimed that she may have to sell her home in order to cover about KRW15billion (about US$1.7million) in expenses in her legal dispute with HYBE.

On September 27, Min Hee-Jin recently made her first public appearance since May at the Hyundai Card Davinci Motel lecture program in Itaewon, Seoul. During her talk, she criticised HYBE of being  “ignorant” for filing police reports against her.

“There is no meaning to doing this job if management and [music] production are separated,” Min told those in attendance, per Korea JoongAng Daily. “I wouldn’t have come [to ADOR] if I had known what they would do to me.”

Min also claimed during the conference that she incurred about KRW2.5billion (approximately US$1.7million) in legal costs as a result of HYBE’s numerous disputes against her. “I’m not as rich as you think and I’m going to sell the house because of the expenses,” she said.

However, Min continued claim that she is innocent of wrongdoing, saying: “You can’t make a sin that doesn’t exist. I know the laws of nature, where lies, no matter how exaggerated or big they are, are brought forth to light eventually”.

This came several days after her interview with JoongAng Ilbo  was published, where she described her public feud with the entertainment giant as nothing more than a public execution of a subsidiary s president for blatantly offending the parent company .

Both of these public statements come after ADOR rejected a request by NewJeans to reappoint Min as the CEO of the K-pop agency, while announcing plans to retain the music executive as a board member.

ADOR s announcement came after  NewJeans held a surprise livestream on YouTube calling for HYBE to reinstate Min after she stepped down from the role in late August. According to the members, the livestream was held without HYBE s knowledge and the original footage has since been deleted.
