Bruce Springsteen and Noah Kahan both appeared as special guests at an intimate show in New Jersey this past weekend.

The two musicians made appearances at The Ocean Ave. Stomp featuring Tangiers Blues Band show that took place on Saturday (September 14), held at the Stone Pony in Ashbury Park, NJ.

The annual gig is part of the festival Sea.Hear.Now’s late shows and saw the event’s co-founder and noted photographer Danny Clinch perform as part of the band. At this year’s edition of the New Jersey music bash, both Springsteen and Kahan were headliners.

At the show, Springsteen took the time to perform various covers including Little Richard‘s ‘Lucille’, John Lee Hooker s ‘Boom Boom Boom’, Them s ‘Gloria’ and Chuck Berry‘s ‘Down the Road a Piece’.  Kahan took over the mic to perform a rendition of  Johnny Cash s ‘Folsom Prison Blues’.

Other musicians who joined in on the celebrations included guitarist Robert Randolph, E Street Band saxophonist Jake Clemons, Grace Potter and Rachel Ana Dobken. Over tracks performed as covers were Beastie Boys ‘Fight for Your Right’, Neil Young s ‘Motorcycle Mama’ and Bob Dylan s ‘All Along the Watchtower’.

The show marked Springsteen’s first appearance at the Stone Pony in nearly five years. The last time he made an appearance was in November 2019 for a private benefit gig.

In other news, the boss’s wife and E Street band member Patti Scialfa recently revealed that she has been battling a rare form of blood cancer since 2018.

Elsewhere, the ˜Streets Of Philadelphia hitmaker  reflected on his long-spanning career ahead of the release of his documentary. Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band  premiered at the Roy Thomson Hall at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday (September 8) with The Boss in attendance.

In a post-screening Q&A, Springsteen reaffirmed that he intends to keep performing music until the wheels come off , per  Variety. If I went tomorrow, it s OK, he told the crowd to applause. What a fucking ride!

As for Noah Kahan, the singer recently introduced The Busyhead Project to the UK “   a non-profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness for mental health.
