Update: Nike Basketball teamed up with Monopoly to outfit the LeBron 22 in two thematic colorways at the end of 2024. On top of this, a third "What The Monopoly" pair was spotted and has now been officially unveiled by the Swoosh. The mismatched pair sees tie-dyed detailing spread throughout while nods to Monopoly come courtesy of the lateral heel's stitched tag and the thematic shoe box. Release remains anticipated for January 23 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $200 USD.
Original Story: Images of an upcoming colorway of LeBron James and Nike's collaboration with the fan-favorite board game Monopoly has surfaced. An Instagram account named @jesuscare posted a first look at the shoe, expected to be the Monopoly x Nike LeBron 22 "What The" colorway. The vibrant and playful tie-dye edition is a nod to the legendary board game aesthetic. Its canvas upper is constructed out of swirls of blue, red, orange and pink, reminiscent of Monopoly money. The shoe's tongue, sockliner and laces are contrasted in volt green, while a red Monopoly label is on the tongue. The collar tag also features a Monopoly brand and embroidered dice motifs as it sits atop a dual-tone blue and pink split outsole to round out the design. Look out for the shoe dropping at the end of January 2025.
