If your PS5 gets so hot you can warm your pizza on it, look no further: thermal solutions company SCRY is soon launching its Artic cooler series with a version made for each member of the PS5 family. And, of course, they are all powered by AI.
Overheating consoles are commonplace and Sony's PlayStation 5 has built itself a bit of a reputation for doing this over the years. SCRY's new Artic lineup has you covered with a specific model to match each model of the PS5 released to date, including the new PS5 Pro. The fans' cooling effect is said to benefit both the hardware, such as the console's internal components, as well as allowing gamers to play for longer and harder by supporting stable performance in even the most demanding scenes.
The Artic V2 (original PS5), Artic S (PS5 Slim) and Artic Pro (PS5 Pro) coolers are each equipped with a proprietary Smart Thermal AI chip designed by SCRY, and work by employing a technique the company calls "Smart Thermoregulation". This allows the coolers to "intelligently monitor" your console's temperature in real time, automatically adjusting fan speeds as needed to ensure it doesn't overheat. The brand claims its cooler's can reduce temperatures by "up to 10°C (50°F) during intensive gaming" – a truly impressive feat, if accurate.
Along with its intelligent temperature monitoring, the coolers feature an ultra-quiet yet ultra-capable "Dynamic Hyperfluid" fan that allows them to suck the heat out of PS5, expending it through the console's rear vent. SCRY claims its fan delivers "30% more airflow" than the standard fans Sony has shipped with the PS5, all while doing so at a noise level of 38 dB.
Set up is as simple as plugging the fan into the PS5's via USB and SCRY has even included a super fast USB 3.1 port on each of its models, helping to ensure users don't have to pick between cooling or sacrificing a port.
If this sounds like something you need for your PS5, head over to SCRY's Kickstarter page now where early bird pricing starts at $39 USD.
