'Flappy Bird' Is Making Its Comeback After 10 Years

Flappy Bird is coming back to our screens a decade after its was shockingly pulled from mobile phones.

As per IGNthe new game is receiving a revival by The Flappy Bird Foundation rather than the original developer, Dong Nguyen. Flappy Bird will be made available for platforms like web browsers by the end of October, and on iOS and Android in 2025. The foundation states that it acquired the game's trademark from US company Gametech Holdings LLC, in addition to the game and character rights of Flappy Bird's inspiration, Piou Piou vs. Cactus.

“We are beyond excited to be bringing back Flappy Bird and delivering a fresh experience that will keep players engaged for years to come. We have big plans for our little Bird!” the foundation's Michael Roberts said in a statement. Piou Piou vs. Cactus developer Kek added, “Today is a milestone not just in gaming but for me personally. It’s so cool to see how influential Piou Piou has been for developers and hundreds of millions of gamers over the years. It’s incredible to work alongside such a dedicated team of fans and creators who are truly passionate about changing the industry narrative and together bringing the original Flappy Bird back to life.”

Nguyen has not commented on the return of his beloved game.

The original Flappy Bird took the world by storm a decade ago but was suddenly removed by Nguyen. "I can call Flappy Bird a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it," he said at the time.
