Klipsch and Ojas Come Together for a Limited Edition kO-R1 Speaker

Ojas founder Devon Turnbull and heritage audio brand Klipsch have officially unveiled a limited edition speakers collaboration. When Klipsch reached out to Turnbull to work on a special project together, Turnbull was quick to agree and later revealed that he was impressed with the sounds of the Klipsch Heresy IV. In a recent launch event in NYC, Turnbull admitted, "I think if I had approached Klipsch, it would have been an unlikely project. Luckily, it just happened in the reverse direction."

Together, the duo have now created the k0-R1 collaborative two-way loudspeaker. The speaker is 15.5" x 24.81" x 13.25" and is considered to be the smallest offering within the Klipsch Heritage Series. Turnbull recommends the speaker as a good jumping off point for those new to high-efficiency speakers. Sharing the same dimensions of the Heresy, it is constructed with Baltic birch plywood and assembled with butt joints. It sits atop a KS-12 stand and features an adjustable sandcast aluminium horn that was created using a 3D printer. Dropping the tweeter, Turnbull went for a two-way design, simplifying the process which he said, "Anytime you can simplify something in audio, as a general rule, it’s worth trying."

Limited to 100 pieces, the speaker is built by hand and arrives in gray lacquer and red oak veneer. Each pair costs $8,498 USD and is available at exclusively at Ojas while supplies last.
