Netflix is gearing up for the release of Ryan Murphy's Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. The anthology crime series follows the real life story of the Menendez brothers who murdered their parents cold blood in their living room.

This is the second season of the series, following the first which focused on Jeffrey Dahmer. It lays out what truly happened and what led to the killing of Lyle and Erik's parents and how the tragedy that unfolded. Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez play the infamous brothers and Chloë Sevigny and Javier Bardem as their parents. During the real trial, the brothers' legal team argued that José sexually and physically abused both brothers for years and that they committed the murder out of fear. Originally tried separately, they were later tried together. They are both now serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.

In the official trailer, audiences can hear Koch's Erik tell Lyle, "I thought that getting rid of them was gonna make me feel better, but I'm having these nightmares." Chavez's Lyle says, "Our life was one thing, and we decided we weren't gonna take that anymore. Starting right now, we're gonna demand more out of life — and we are never gonna f*cking go back." Watch the full trailer above. Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story hits Netflix on September 19.
