Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) has officially launched the GR Supra GT4 EVO2, a significant evolution of its highly successful GT4 race car. Building on extensive feedback from global racing teams and drivers, the new model promises enhanced performance, reliability and drivability, making it a formidable competitor in the upcoming 2025 season.

The original GR Supra GT4, introduced in 2020, quickly became a favorite among racing teams, amassing over 120 sales and securing more than 500 podium finishes across 11 countries — with championships in Asia, the U.S., and Europe.

For the 2023 season, Toyota introduced the GR Supra GT4 EVO, focusing on improved braking, handling and engine performance. From there, by continuing to gather insights from real-world racing conditions, TGR has now developed the EVO2, which aims to set new benchmarks in the GT4 category.

Key updates to the EVO2 include re-tuned ABS maps for optimal braking and cornering, fine-tuned rev matching to improve downshifting and deceleration control, as well as enhanced cooling systems for the engine, brakes and drivetrain. These improvements boost the car's performance and make it more accessible to amateur drivers, ensuring that the GR Supra GT4 EVO2 is as competitive as it is user-friendly.

The GR Supra GT4 EVO2 will make its racing debut at the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in January 2025, coinciding with the 24 Hours of Daytona. At the time of writing, Toyota has only revealed expected pricing for the European market, with retail to be set at €202,000 EUR. More information on global availability and pricing is anticipated to be announced soon.
