BBC Escape to the Country's Ginny Buckley left stunned by show first 'Oh come on'

Escape to the Country host offers to share his tips

Escape to the Country presenter Ginny Buckley was left utterly astonished by a property viewing on the show. On Wednesday's (January 8) episode of the BBC spin-off I Escaped to the Country, Ginny met again with Ele, a Police Officer, and Huw, a digital marketing manager, who had made another move since their original appearance.

The dog-loving duo initially eyed a move from Harpenden High Weald, Kent, with a £600,000 budget. They were smitten by the mystery house in High Weald, which Ele declared her "happy place."

In a heartfelt moment, Ele revealed her emotions, saying: "I'm getting a bit emotional, sorry, but I guess that's what we really need in our new happy place."

Huw commented on their extensive search, noting: "All the properties we've seen have been really nice could happily live in any of them but some houses feel more right for you than others and that's how the mystery house felt."

Despite their initial love for the house, they refrained from making an offer. A year on, the couple chose a different property in Hampshire, which clearly impressed Ginny, reports Surrey Live.

Upon entering the garden, she exclaimed: "Oh my goodness me. Oh, come on, no." Ele described it further: "This was the selling point. It's everything we could have possibly wished for and more."

Ginny admitted being taken aback by the scenery, confessing: "I don't think I've ever seen a view quite as beautiful as that off the bottom of the garden at any property I have been to."

Ele and her partner were left stunned by a particular comment, with Ele responding: "Oh, well, that makes me very happy."

The reason they opted for a different setting was also shared by Ele, who explained: "Whilst East Sussex was beautiful, actually we just wanted to be so that I could get into London and ideally closer to the coast. So we literally just had South England as our search criteria."

Delving deeper into their decision-making process, Ele said: "We knew nothing about this area when we bought it so it was quite a risky decision, and coincidentally, on that same day we came to view the house our Escape to the Country episode had been on the TV."
