Virgin River enthusiasts are keen to delve into the life of Benjamin Hollingsworth, who brings the character Dan Brady alive on screen.

In the eagerly anticipated season six, viewers will follow Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) and Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) as they finally walk down the aisle, providing a fairy tale moment for fans in the latest instalments.

However, Brady's (Benjamin Hollingsworth) romantic journey remains fraught with conflict, especially after his breakup with Brie Sheridan (Zibby Allen) over his drug-dealing past.

Despite Brie's new romance with policeman Mike (Marco Grazzini), audience hopes for reconciliation between her and Brady continue to simmer as this season unfolds.

Hollingsworth's journey towards stardom began in Ontario, 1984, where he fostered dreams of acting, later honing his craft at the National Theatre School of Canada and emerging into the industry in 2006.

His career ascent seemed assured post his big-screen break in The Joneses, alongside stars Demi Moore and David Duchovny, followed by an opportunity to appear in The CW's The Beautiful Life, produced by Ashton Kutcher.

Unfortunately, the show's abrupt cancellation, just two episodes in, was a significant hurdle, with Hollingsworth sharing on Instagram the instant dismissal from set during episode seven filming: "Midday we had 30 minutes to clear out of our dressing rooms."

He posted a photo taken by paparazzi on the morning he discovered his show had been axed, adding: "Young, dumb and now broke, I moved back to LA with my tail between my legs.

"Couch surfing with my little dog Stella. I wasted a year of my life feeling sorry for myself, self sabotaging opportunities and chasing after celebrity instead of the work."

Yet, despite the blow, the 40 year old wasn't ready to throw in the towel: "BUT, this wasn't the worst morning of my life. In hindsight it was one of the greatest things that ever happened to me.

"I learned a lesson they don't teach you in theatre school. Take nothing for granted, nothing is guaranteed or owed to you. Resilience is earned not inherited."

The Virgin River star once dated The Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev. Initially roommates, the pair started dating in 2006 and stayed together for three years.

Their relationship didn't last, but according to Hollingsworth's words in a 2021 Pop Culturalist interview, they remain on friendly terms.

He remarked: "My good friend, Nina Dobrev, was on another CW show at the time, The Vampire Diaries. That went on for eight or nine seasons."

"It was fun to see where she went. It's interesting to see all sides of this business."

The Brady star later found love with lingerie designer Nila Myers, a Bar Method teacher, in 2010. They were engaged in 2012 and quickly tied the knot just two months later.

Since then, the couple have started a family, welcoming three children, Hemingway, Gatsby, and Juniper.

Speaking to iHeartRadio three years ago, Hollingsworth sang Nila's praises, saying: "She's amazing. Three kids later, she's still such a hero. I'm so lucky to have her."
