Danny Jones says he was 'really ill' after ignoring I'm A Celebrity doctor's advice
Danny Jones has disclosed that he disregarded the medical advice from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here's team after his jungle victory, which left him 'seriously ill'.
The McFly frontman was declared the king of the jungle last Sunday (December 8) during the finale of the ITV reality show's 2024 series.
He reached the final three alongside TV star Coleen Rooney, who came second, and Reverend Richard Coles who secured third place. Danny's triumph in Australia marked his third win this year following his success on The Masked Singer and his protégé Ava, whom he mentored with his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher, winning ITV's The Voice in October.
The 38 year old has since labelled it a 'mad year', confessing that he had intended to take a six-month break to relocate ahead of his tour next year, but couldn't resist the call of I'm A Celeb when the chance arose. His wife Georgia handled the move while he was Down Under.
After his victory, Danny posted his first official message on social media as he continues to take a break from his phone following his three-week stint without life's luxuries.
Alongside a photo of himself with his fellow I'm A Celeb 2024 campmates after his victory, the caption on Instagram read: "A message from Danny... This was one of the hardest and most amazing things I have ever done in my life. I would have never been able to have the incredible experience I've had, without these people. The campmates made it for me.", reports Manchester Evening News.

Melvin Odoom commented: "Camp Famalam! " Now, Danny has given fans a glimpse into his life after I'm A Celeb and revealed how he disregarded doctors' advice regarding his food choices upon leaving the strictly rationed camp. Initially, he shared a picture of himself basking in the sun and said: "Very happy king! Still can't believe that you guys all voted for me. Feels surreal. It's a proper top of the world feeling. Can't wait to see you all in the UK soon."

He then posted a series of videos where he said: "Thought you'd might like to know something... When I came out the jungle, I had two breakfasts. I went a bit mad. i had a banana bread sandwich with fruit, cream and maple syrup, it was amazing, and I also ordered a croissant with eggs, halloumi, avocado - epic! I had a right nice cuppa tea with that, then I had a vanilla milkshake." [sic]
"But here's the thing, the doc said to me, 'Go slow and small' and I didn't. That night I was really ill, like really ill. Up all night. So the next morning I went a bit more gentle with some fruit. Anyway, this morning, I feel better..."
He elaborated on his dietary changes, mentioning an intense craving for sweets and tea. Danny further expressed: "All in all, I think I'm through the other side. My stomach has shrunk massively but I feel like I'm eating better. Last night I had a bit of pasta, I didn't eat it all, I shared it with my mum. I can't eat a full bowl of pasta yet. I'm quite enjoying that to be honest with you because I used to eat too much anyway but it's just the milkshakes and the crisps and the chocolate. It's just going down so well. So I'll let you know how today goes."
