Antiques Road Trip descended into chaos in a previous episode after presenter Mark Stacey threatened to quit the show after storming off.

The BBC expert was joined by Catherine Southon on the first day of a Scottish road trip, but their journey quickly turned to disaster.

Mark was left fuming when their car broke down, believing it was a secret ploy to "sabotage" his winning streak, causing him to abandon Catherine while filming.

In the 2017 episode, Tim Wonnacott said: "Mark and Catherine are heading 62 miles North West to the small town of Kilbirnie in North Ayrshire, but things aren’t going quite to plan."

Catherine held her head in her hands as she sighed: "I just don’t know. I really don’t know."

Sat in the passenger seat, Mark swiped: "Well, thank you very much Catherine.”

Catherine snapped back: "Oh look, it’s not my fault. I don’t know what’s happened." Mark replied: "No, no, listen. You’re a saboteur. I’ve now got to struggle up to my shop."

Catherine stood up for herself as she pointed out: “Mark, it’s 300 yards. It’s not far. It’s hardly a struggle."

Mark retaliated: "Catherine, Catherine, this is just the beginning of the week. I’m going to remember this."

As Mark stormed off, Catherine called out: "So you’re just going to leave me and abandon me in the middle of nowhere with this car?"

Speaking on the VoiceOver, Tim said: "Oh crikey. With a full day of shopping ahead of him, Mark’s having to hot foot it up to the working farm which houses stirrup cup antiques. While poor Catherine’s left to sort out the engine."
