ITV The Chase fans all say same thing after contestant's appearance distracts viewers

The Chase: Bradley welcomes Cordelia to the show

The Chase returned to ITV on Tuesday (September 17) featuring show contestants Nicola, Christopher, Cordelia, and James as they faced off against the formidable Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett.

However, it was one contestant on The Chase who turned heads with her bold 70s-inspired hairstyle.

The episode kicked off with Nicola taking the lead, managing to secure £5,000 after a tense head-to-head with Mark. Unfortunately, her teammate Christopher didn’t make it back for the show final.

Cordelia, who had taken the lower offer of £1,000, rejoined the team for the final chase. While her performance sparked some frustration among viewers, it was her striking punk-inspired hairstyle that truly sparked reactions from viewers on X (formerly Twitter).

One person said: “#TheChase blonde punk 70s throwback.”

A second person added: “Up next from 1984.. #TheChase”.

A third person fumed at the fact Cordelia took the lower offer and wrote: “Cordelia, don't you dare go low... or we're all going to give a rebel yell! #TheChase.” However, one person seemed to disagree, saying: “Go low. Only sensible option.”

Unfortunately, after school teacher James played for the middle offer of £5,000 and was defeated, Nicola and Cordelia were left to face Mark in the final head-to-head.

James faced criticism for his performance, but some people jumped to his defence.

A fan of the show hit back saying: “Just remember that two teachers have actually won quiz shows. The one on Tipping Point won 20K and the other on Who Wants to be a Millionaire won a million during the Clarkson era #TheChase."

Meanwhile another person chimed in with: “Smarter than the average teacher but still not enough knowledge.”

Despite their efforts, at the end of the final round, both Nicola and Cordelia left empty-handed.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 at 5pm.
