Bargain Hunt: Christina Trevanion opens the show

Bargain Hunt expert Christina Trevanion has been a part of the BBC series for many years after she was headhunted by one of the series producers on Flog It!. She chose a career in antiques as she loved the variation that came with the job.

Her dream came true when she opened her own auction house in her home county of Shropshire in 2014. She shared: "No two days are the same – one day I can be covered in cobwebs rummaging around in someone’s loft looking for priceless treasures; the next I can be giving a lecture to a group on early English porcelain.

"The antiques industry isn’t just a vocation, it’s a way of life, and it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do." She was originally a partner of Trevanion & Dean, which she founded with business partner Aaron Dean.

However, four years later, he decided it was time to do something different and handed full ownership of the business to Christina. In a statement back in 2019, Aaron wrote: "I am delighted that Christina is now taking over the business.

“I’m excited to see it thrive under her leadership. I’ve had a fantastic four years at Trevanion & Dean, full of laughter and fun, and it's time for me to move on.”

He decided to relocate to Cheshire with his partner for a career break and has since started working at Adam Partridge as a senior valuer and auctioneer.

Christina and Aaron originally met at university and stayed in contact before launching the business together.

After he left, Christina changed the company name to Trevanion Auctioneers & Valuers and she specialises in jewellery, silver and watches.

She became a member of the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers in 2018 and was awarded a Fellow grade.

She is also a member of the prestigious Society of Jewellery Historians and the Arts Society.

The expert hosts regular Fine Art and antiques auctions and offers advice on buying and selling antiques.

She said: "I am incredibly proud to have established a successful business in my home county of Shropshire.

"My knowledgeable and experienced team of experts, consultants and I, are dedicated to offering you the exceptional customer service you would expect from a local business, yet with a global reach, ensuring that our customers achieve the best possible results."
