Bridgerton star speaks out for first time on forbidden Netflix romance
After Netflix officially unveiled actress Yerin Ha as the highly-anticipated character Sophie Baek for the fourth season of Bridgerton, the newest star has teased what's to come from the mysterious newbie. Bridgerton enthusiasts have previously only known the character as 'The Lady in Silver' but they'll now finally be able to put a face and a name to Benedict Bridgerton's love interest for the fourth instalment.
Sophie plays a maid to whom Benedict (Luke Thompson) is immediately drawn, but the pair inevitably face obstacles because they are from two completely alternate worlds.
Speaking about the forbidden romance for the first time, Yerin told Tudum: "What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome. Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict."
Sophie disguises herself to attend Violet Bridgerton's (Ruth Gemmell) masquerade ball and a chance encounter leads her to come face-to-face with Benedict for the first time.
Actress Yerin previously starred in the sci-fi series Halo for two seasons, which was produced by none other than Steven Spielberg. As if she isn't busy enough, she will also be appearing in the upcoming prequel series, Dune: Prophecy.

One Reddit user expressed: "She is unbelievably gorgeous - cannot wait to see her on screen."
Another fan praised the production's decision to change the character's surname from the book series to match Yerin's real-life Korean heritage.
They gushed: "Finally!!! Such a stunner and the fact that they changed her name to match her Korean heritage is amazing."

A fourth added: "Excited to see her on screen! Sad that it'll be a while before we get to see the season, but hopefully at least some cast will post content while they're filming so we can have something to obsess over meanwhile."
Season three of Bridgerton aired on the streaming platform in two parts, with the first four episodes dropping on May 16, followed by the next four on June 13.
Netflix are yet to reveal the release date for Bridgerton season four.
