Strictly Come Dancing star bags huge advantage ahead of debut launch show

Strictly Come Dancing: 2024 series teased in BBC trailer

Strictly Come Dancing is back this weekend, with fifteen celebrities ready to take to the dance floor and compete to win the coveted Glitterball trophy.

Ahead of the launch show, one famous face has gained an advantage before the show has even begun, in the form of being the favourite to go all the way and win the series.

Coral Bookmakers have announced that Love Island star Tasha Ghouri is top of the bookies betting odds to win the show, with 7-2 odds to lift the trophy. Coral's John Hill said: "Reality TV stars have a great record on Strictly and Tasha Ghouri is being backed to continue that trend.

"The former Love Island contestant is the early favourite to win this year's show ahead of the launch of the new series." EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick is currently in second position at 4-1, followed by Shayne Ward at 6-1.

JLS star JB Gill and Olympic and European Gold Medallist Sam Quek are both at 7-1 at the time of writing. Go Compare fame and opera singer Wynne Evans is at the bottom of the pack at 33-1, with an outside chance of winning the series.

Dressed to impress, the ladies taking part were seen wearing sequined fitted dresses while the men donned an array of white, blue and yellow suits.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are back to present the show as are judges, Craig Revel-Horwood, Anton Du Beke, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse.

The professional dancers hoping to get paired up with a celebrity are Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez and Luba Mushtuk.
