A Place In The Sun's Laura Hamilton details first overseas renovation property

Laura Hamilton breaks silence over worrying condition

A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has snapped up her very own slice of paradise, securing a holiday home in sunny Mallorca.

The TV star, 42, who is set to grace our screens once more in the new series of the popular Channel 4 show, has taken a leaf out of her own book by purchasing her first overseas renovation project. Talking to the Mirror, Laura shared: "It's a big renovation project in Mallorca, even though I've renovated a lot of houses over the last, since I was 19, it is a new thing for me renovating overseas so yeah it's a bit different!

"I'm sure it will come with some challenges but it's really nice, not only will I have when I'm helping other people to find their places in the sun, I will have actually first hand gone through the experience myself as well. I'll be living and breathing the whole thing!"

Laura also expressed her spontaneous nature when it comes to life, saying: "I'm a pretty spontaneous person, I feel like when you know it's right, you just know. I looked at it once and knew straight away that it was the right property."

Laura has also taken to Instagram to divulge more about her new property venture. In an August post, Laura excitedly shared: "Whilst I've renovated 19 projects in the UK, this will be my first renovation overseas... and I'm completely out of my comfort zone. It's going to be an interesting process and I can't wait for the challenge. . . . I've spent the last 13 years helping people find properties overseas and now I'm embarking on the journey myself. . .

"My renovation is unsurprisingly a big project (the way I like it) with a lot of work...AND I can't wait to share the journey with you from the moment I get the keys... . . . Concurrent with the show's new series, A Place In The Sun has disclosed findings from a survey involving 2,500 prospective property buyers in the UK, revealing Spain as the top destination for Brits looking to purchase abroad, with a whopping 53% yearning for their slice of Spanish sun - a significant increase from 44% in the previous year.

The survey also indicated that a massive 96% of participants believe more sunshine will enhance their life quality, while 87% are convinced they will lead healthier and longer lives.

Commenting on these findings, co-presenter Jasmine Harman remarked: "I'm not surprised Spain is more popular than ever we moved the whole family a year ago to the Costa del Sol, and living here is amazing."

The new series of A Place In The Sun is available to watch on weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
