Amazon Prime boss sent 1,000 toy ponies as part of fan campaign to bring back axed show
The historical fantasy series My Lady Jane, which was released back in June, was cancelled by Amazon Prime Video just seven weeks after the first season aired. Unwilling to take the decision lying down, ardent fans of the show have been building a campaign to rescue it.
In a desperate bid to revive the historical romance, which drew rave reviews from critics when it was released, fans have been trying to grab Amazon’s attention - and they may just succeed. Express.co.uk and other Reach outlets can exclusively reveal that campaign runners have sent a rather hilarious gift to directly to Amazon HQ.
Jules and the team at Save My Lady Jane told us: “Today, Chris Bird, Managing Director for Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios UK, will receive a shipment of 1,000 toy horses to Amazon’s London offices. Fans are calling on Chris and the team at Prime Video.
“Today’s move comes just over two weeks after news broke that what has been called ‘Amazon’s most promising Bridgerton competitor’ would not be picked up for a second season.” The minds behind the #SaveMyLadyJane campaign then went on to list the strides fans had made to prove the show is worth rescuing.
Jules and fellow fans have managed to secure over 55,000 on their change.org petition and the show has also gained an impressive 12 points on its Rotten Tomatoes audience score thanks to their efforts, placing it at 90% fresh with viewers and 95% fresh with critics. My Lady Jane was even pushed back into the top 10 most-viewed shows on Amazon Prime US as a result of the campaign.

One thing sure to put a smile on fans’ faces is the video uploaded by the campaign team to Instagram, which sees them filling a box with 1000 little toy ponies and sending them in the mail.
The caption for the post reads: “No horses were harmed in the making of this gift to @primevideouk!
“Sending them 1000 Guildfords to remind them to give us our horse husband back!
“PS - Please donate the toys to The TOY Project @the_toy_project in London if you don't feel like playing with them yourselves!”
Fans were quick to comment on the post, with one writing: “Yes!! Let’s bring our favorite horse husband back. That’s all we want #savemyladyjane.” (sic)

All eight episodes of the imaginative fantasy, Lady Jane, are set in a whimsical version of 16th-century England where humans and shape-shifters share the world.
Star Emily Bader, the lead as Jane Grey, previously gushed about her character's destined love with Lord Guildford Dudley (played by Edward Bluemel), stating they are "made for each other".
The story sees Jane Gray sympathising with shape-shifters, who are an oppressed class, which compels drama and forbidden love amidst her ascension.
The show earned enthusiastic reviews from outlets like The Guardian, Forbes and the Standard.
