Matt Baker mum health update as she welcomes new family member
Matt Baker is back with a new season of his documentary series, Travels with Mum and Dad. The presenter is set to take his parents Janice and Mike on some memorable, easy-to-reach excursions around the North East.
Wanting to find some hidden gems closer to home, they relive old memories and make new ones. Matt, Janice and Mike head to the Northumberland County Show, north-east England's biggest annual rural festival, in the new series.
They get the inside scoop on what it takes to put on such a huge event, while they help prep some of the award-winning animals. Matt announced his mum's latest addition to the family, saying: “If taking my folks and a caravan out and about isn’t challenging enough, this time we're taking a puppy along for the ride!
"All of these trips are planned around what I think my parents are going love and I'm proud to say we haven't picked a duff one yet. I feel very lucky to be able to make new memories with them, making the most of the time we have together, all whilst celebrating the wonderful North of England.”
The Countryfile star's mum has a new puppy called Archie and he shared the update on Instagram, saying he believes fans will "love" as he is "on every episode".

Matt Baker with mum Janice who has recovered from her accident (Image: CHANNEL 4)Back in 2021, Janice suffered serious injuries in a farming accident, which forced her to stop working.
She was busy tending to sheep when they knocked her off her feet and trampled on her, leaving her with a broken leg.
In the trailer for Matt's new series, Janice is seen standing and walking with what appears to be a fully healed leg.
Despite having to give up a lot of what she loved doing, the injury does not seem to have had any lasting impact.

As for his father Mike, he celebrated his 80th birthday in April, and Matt said it was a "real gift" to be able to still have both of his parents around.
He said: "They’re at a time in their life when they probably didn’t think that they’d go off on many more adventures, and now here they are, even close to home."
The family will be travelling in their renovated caravan, which is crucial for Mike's health.
"It’s important for me to take it for my dad, because it’s like his little home from home. It’s not like a format point in the show. It’s more of a necessity, as he’s 80."
