BBC Breakfast viewers swoon over Lulu's 'ageless' appearance

BBC Breakfast viewers were left swooning over Lulu’s "youthful" look as fans insisted that they "love her energy".

Lulu Kennedy-Cairns CBE, formerly known as Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie ,is one of the biggest names in showbiz, with her career spanning more than six decades.

The Scottish pop star, 75, appeared on the BBC hit show on Monday morning alongside hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay as she discussed her plans to go on her last ever tour.

Jon started off by saying: “Thanks for coming in and talking to us on a Monday.” Lulu went on to say: “Well I love to work, I’m a workaholic.” Jon continued: “So you’re going back on the road again.”

Sally then asked: “So you’re going on tour. Have you had to add more dates?” Lulu explained: “What happened is, I did a tour about a year ago and it was hard work and at my age I thought, do I need to be doing this.

“So I’ve decided to do things differently and announced a final tour for this year but it sold out and a lot of people couldn’t get tickets so the promoter said can we do more dates. We are doing ten gigs.”

Getting emotional she continued: “It was so moving to say that this is my final tour because it is my life. It has been my life for the past 60 years and the audiences have been with me all the way and I had tears in my eyes so when asked if I could do others I said well if you space them out and make them leisurely for me.”

Sally asked: “How do you make them leisurely?” Lulu joked; “You don’t. It’s a lot of bs but I just had to say that.”

Jon couldn’t help but asked: “Talking about tours and tickets. Everybody has been trying to get Oasis tickets over the weekend.” Lulu jumped in: “That’ll all be over soon.”

“What are your thoughts,” Jon asked. Looking at Jon and Sally, Lulu replied: “I don’t really want to go into that.”

During the interview, viewers couldn’t help but praise the singer's ‘ageless’ appearance as they noted that she has barely aged a day since her initial rise to fame in the seventies.
