Loose Women's Janet Street-Porter snaps at audience over startling confession

Loose Women: Janet reveals she keeps roadkill in her freezer

Janet Street-Porter stunned viewers of Loose Women on Wednesday by confessing that she kept roadkill in her freezer. The bizarre admission came during a segment about unusual items people keep in their freezers.

While her fellow panellists had nothing shocking to reveal, they were left speechless by Janet's comment: "Roadkill," Dame Kelly Holmes even admitted: "I don't even know what that is."

Janet clarified: "Roadkill... that is stuff that got hit by cars that is on the side of the road..." The studio audience gasped in disbelief, prompting Janet to snap back: "Oh, oh, oh, oh. It is too late for the oh-ing, love."

Turning to an audience member, the ITV star continued: "Oh! Too late for oh! I am making use of a resource that would be otherwise wasted, so if I am driving in the countryside and I see a pheasant, for example, a nice, big, fat, game bird that has been hit by a car and it doesn't look mangled up, I will throw it in the boot and when I get home I will take all the feathers off it and pop it in the freezer."

Later in the show, Janet made another revelation during a discussion about whether families were physically affectionate with each other.

The witty exchange ensued on ITV after Liam and Noel Gallagher baffled fans with a video of an affectionate moment.

The sibling rockstars, known for their turbulent relationship, shared an unexpected kiss on the lips leading to speculation about an Oasis reunion and upcoming tour.

Janet joined in on the laughs but used the opportunity to divulge personal history, explaining her reserved nature: "My lack of cuddliness dates back to when I was a small child."

She detailed her annual childhood trips to North Wales, narrating: "My Welsh mum sent me every summer holiday to North Wales to stay with my Welsh granny, who hardly spoke any English.

"And my sister and I would arrive at this little stone cottage in North Wales and my Welsh granny would be waiting for me and over the door, there was a fresh birch rod, and my mother would say, 'Right, you know what is going to happen if you misbehave' and Nain would point up at this birch rod and that was it."

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
