Jermaine Jenas' eye-watering BBC salary before 'inappropriate behaviour' axe
Jermaine Jenas was reportedly earning a hefty salary from the BBC before his abrupt dismissal. The ex-footballer, 41, who served as a pundit and presenter for Match of the Day and frequently hosted The One Show, has been let go by the corporation following allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
A BBC spokesperson confirmed to Mirror Online: "We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line up."
Jenas last co-hosted The One Show with Alex Jones on 22 July and was last seen on the Match of The Day panel on 4 May. He also lent his voice to the BBC's coverage of Euro 2024, providing commentary for Spain's semi-final triumph over France.
In addition, he was the face of MOTDx, a spin-off of the main show.

Following news of his dismissal, it's reported that he has been removed from MC Saatchi's agency website, reports the Mirror.

"His colleagues are stunned, they didn't see it coming at all. They were kept in the dark to start with. They couldn't believe it when they found out."
The former sportsman joined The One Show in 2020, co-hosting alongside Alex Jones, and became a permanent fixture just a year later.
During his football career, Jenas represented England and Tottenham Hotspur, where he played from 2005 to 2013 after transferring from Newcastle United. His first team debut was with Nottingham Forest, which he joined at the age of 17.

In 2002, Jenas made a high-profile move to Newcastle United and was awarded PFA Young Player of the Year.
Injuries plagued his career, leading to his retirement in 2014 at the age of 31. Post-retirement, Jenas carved out a successful television career, working for the BBC and TNT Sports.
In 2021, he expressed his ambition to host Match of the Day. "Match Of The Day is the biggest job on television, and if I ever got the opportunity of course I'd say yes," he told the Sun.
"When Gary decides to call it a day, I'm sure the BBC will have a look around and decide who's the best fit for the job."
